Job Description

The Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the College of Arts and Science at GUST invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Mathematics to start in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023. The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or any related field. Preference will be given to candidates specialized in Financial Mathematics, Data Science, or any related area. In addition to teaching introductory mathematics, statistics, and core courses, the successful candidate would teach advanced courses like, numerical analysis, linear algebra, differential equations, and related special topics courses depending on the candidate’s interests and/or specialty. The State of Kuwait does not recognize degrees from online universities.

Minimum Qualifications

The applicant must have completed a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics or related fields from a reputable North American (U.S. or Canada) or European university with an extensive teaching experience. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to quality teaching and be active in research. He/she is expected to have an excellent record of publications in their fields, have international exposure and have participated in competitive research projects. He/she should possess excellent communication skills in English, must be ambitious, self-motivated, hard-working, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team where scientific creativity is essential.
