Unity Health Toronto and the University of Toronto’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology are seeking qualified and highly motivated individuals for a permanent Anatomical Pathology position.
The successful applicant must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is April 1, 2026, or a mutually agreed upon date.
Unity Health Toronto includes St. Michael’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, and Providence Healthcare, with a focus on inner-city health and world-class care in interventional endoscopy, surgery, and oncology.
The successful candidate will:
Provide excellence in surgical pathology diagnostic clinical practice, based at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto.
Participate in frozen section diagnosis, after-hours call, and autopsy service.
Contribute to the Department’s academic mission, including research collaboration and teaching in undergraduate and residency programs.
Engage in areas aligned with the Department’s strategic plan: diagnostic innovation, test utilization, and clinical engagement (interest in these areas is an asset).
Applicants must:
Be eligible for medical licensure in Ontario.
Hold postgraduate qualifications in Anatomic, Clinical, or General Pathology.
Be eligible for an academic appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology.
Preferred qualifications:
Fellowship training or demonstrated subspecialty expertise in Genitourinary or Head and Neck Pathology.
Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Compensation is aligned with the uniform level of compensation in Ontario, ensuring parity with other Laboratory Physicians.
Current total compensation: $404,300.
