Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, at the UAE University, invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in any pediatric subspecialties, at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. The candidate will be involved in pediatric clerkship, undergraduate teaching, and examination of medical students. Clinical service at the consultant level will be provided, with inpatient, outpatient, and on-call duty, at the teaching hospitals affiliated to the university. Clinical and/or laboratory-based research with other CMHS faculty or with clinical colleagues in the affiliated teaching hospitals is expected and encouraged. International research collaboration is encouraged. Active participation in educational and college administrative functions, including committees, is also expected. The successful candidate must have demonstrable capability to develop and sustain internally and/or externally funded research projects in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in high-impact journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University.

Minimum Qualification

At least an MD or MBBS degree, and certification of specialization and sub specialization in their field by the American Board or equivalent from Europe, Australasia or North America, with recognized advanced training in their respective subspecialty. Evidence of prior scholarship including publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals is a key requirement for the position.

Preferred Qualification

At least an MD or MBBS degree, and certification of specialization and sub specialization in their field by the American Board or equivalent from Europe, Australasia or North America, with recognized advanced training in their respective subspecialty. Evidence of prior scholarship including publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals is a key requirement for the position.

Excpected Skills

Familiarity with USMLE, Canadian Qualifying Examinations and the operation/accreditation of graduate medical programs and certification/fellowship in North America, Australia, Europe or the Arab Board is desirable. Applicants should also have a track-record in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level including designing curricula, overseeing courses and supervising student projects, etc. In-depth understanding and expertise in pediatrics research, to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field.
