Position: Specialist- Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist
The Department of Radiological Sciences, University of California, Irvine, anticipates openings for non-senate, academic term appointments as Assistant, Associate and Full Specialist.
The position involves research investigation in the areas of cardiovascular and dual energy CT. Research in this laboratory focuses on applications of medical x-ray imaging for cardiovascular disease and cancer diagnosis. Applicants with a broad background in medical physics, physics, or electrical engineering, who hold a Masters, or PhD, or MD, degree is required:
Assistant Specialist: Master's degree in a relevant discipline, or possession of a relevant baccalaureate degree plus 3 or more years of research experience
Associate Specialist: Master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization
Specialist: MD/PhD or ten or more years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization
Those who possess a strong motivation to pursue an academic medical physics career are encouraged to apply. Strong background in physics, mathematics and software or hardware development skills are essential for this research. Training or working experience in CT physics, radiological physics and detector physics is desirable. Also the ability to communicate both verbally and in written format is important.
