Duties and responsibilities
Development of multifunctional materials for soft robotic applications.


  • internationally recognised research;
  • initiation and preparation of research projects and proposals, including national (Estonian Research Council, Archimedes) and by European Commission;
  • supervision of PhD students and students at other academic levels.
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
Competence in the following fields is necessary:
  • chemistry, material science;
  • incorporating of the mentioned competencies with other fields present in the research group (computational simulations, soft robotics, robotics) to carry out interdisciplinary research.

Additional competence in the following fields is desirable:

  • modern organic synthesis to develop materials;
  • analytical chemistry to characterize materials structure and properties;
  • previous research in the following fields: biomaterials, ionic liquids or conductive polymers.


  • strong publication record in international research journals;
  • experience in teaching and supervising students, including (co-)supervision of PhD students;
  • internationally recognised research at post-doctoral level;
  • previous successful track record in applying to scientific funding and conducting research projects (for example MSCA, TTP, NSF, or any other at the level).
Required language skills
Very good English and Estonian.
