Job Summary

  • Position: Associate Professor B in Computer Science (Algorithm Analysis)

  • Purpose:

    • Lead research and teaching in algorithm analysis, design, computational complexity, and software engineering

    • Contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including supervision

    • Engage with industrial software development and research collaborations


Candidate Profile / Requirements

  • Research:

    • Demonstrated excellence in algorithm design and analysis

    • Strong publication record and capacity to attract external research funding

    • Evidence of engagement with software engineering in industry is highly desirable

  • Teaching:

    • Ability to contribute to teaching and supervision across undergraduate and postgraduate levels

    • Support the Immersive Software Engineering (ISE) programme

  • Collaboration:

    • Work with Lero – the Irish Software Research Centre

    • Participate in interdisciplinary research and teaching initiatives


Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research in algorithm analysis and related areas

  • Attract external funding and maintain a strong publication record

  • Teach and supervise students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels

  • Contribute to departmental leadership, curriculum development, and engagement with industry partners
