The Department of Economics within the Miami Herbert Business School at the University of Miami seeks applicants for a Tenure Track or Tenure Eligible Professor position starting in Fall 2026.
Eligible candidates must have completed a Ph.D. or expect to complete a Ph.D. in Economics or related areas prior to beginning employment. Applicants must have a scholarly record commensurate with rank, which may include:
Publications in top refereed journals of the field
Outstanding pedagogical skills
Willingness to actively engage within the department, school, and broader communities
Teach 3–4 courses (9–12 credits) per academic year, including lecturing, leading class discussions, and other teaching activities during scheduled classes
Create, administer, and grade using appropriate assessment methods
Hold office hours and provide additional student support outside class
Calculate and submit grades for all students
Collaborate with the chair and faculty to create coursework and support the department’s mission
Follow established expectations and protocols for the department and remain current in the field
