The Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development (APHD) at OISE, University of Toronto, invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Clinical and Counselling Psychology. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Clinical and/or Counselling Psychology from a CPA- or APA-approved program, with a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. Applicants must also be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
We seek a dynamic and innovative scholar whose research program and teaching interests complement and enhance departmental strengths. Candidates whose work engages with equity-deserving communities and contributes to inclusive, socially responsive scholarship grounded in principles of social justice, diversity, and decolonization are encouraged to apply. Innovative approaches using emerging technologies (e.g., AI, digital mental health interventions) or other novel clinical and counselling practices are also welcomed. Applicants with experience working with populations across the lifespan are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have an established international reputation, lead independent research, maintain an externally funded program, supervise graduate students, and contribute to the growth and leadership of the clinical and counselling psychology program. Participation in professional and administrative departmental activities is expected.
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Clinical and/or Counselling Psychology from a CPA or APA approved program
Registration or eligibility with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
Evidence of research excellence, demonstrated through:
High-impact publications
Research statement and conference presentations
Awards, accolades, and endorsements from referees
Evidence of teaching excellence, particularly in psychological assessment and/or therapeutic interventions, documented in the teaching dossier and strong reference letters
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
