The position of Professor/Associate Professor of Dermatology is a 0.4 to 0.8 FTE opportunity within our Prince of Wales Clinical School. The incumbent will lead, with vision and innovation, the research and teaching of dermatology at UNSW, and engage, collaborate and communicate across the South-Eastern Sydney Local Health District and other UNSW Medicine & Health clinical schools. The position will be provided research support.

About the role

  • Based Prince of Wales Clinical School, Randwick
  • Pro rata $158,917 - $203,251 + 17% Superannuation + leave loading
  • 5-year Fixed Term Contract, up to 28 hours per week

The position reports to the Head of School, Prince of Wales Clinical School

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Medical registration in Australia, possession of FACD or equivalent qualification, and possession of specialist recognition relevant to Dermatology
  • A higher degree in a relevant discipline area is desirable as is an outstanding research record, including significant external research funding and publications in top tier peer-reviewed journals
  • A record of achievement and leadership in a managerial role in a University or professional setting
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage complex organisational change in clinical, research and education settings, including high-level skills in leadership, analysis, liaison, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Clinical subspecialty knowledge and expertise which complements and extends current clinical services available in Dermatology
  • Successful interaction with relevant professional organisations and/or evidence of involvement in broader health system management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, direct and lead a multi-disciplinary team in the achievement of organisational objectives
