Clinical Associate in Community General Surgery

The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery seeks Clinical Associates at 100% effort for a renewable two-year term. The successful applicant will provide inpatient and outpatient care to general surgery patients through the Ingalls Health System. Direct patient care responsibilities include managing patients with complex surgical needs, and after-hour and weekend general surgery call coverage. We especially welcome applicants with experience providing general surgical care in a community setting.

The position does not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in general surgery.
