Light Microscopy Facility Manager / PostDoc (f/m)

11.06.2021, Wissenschaftliches Personal

Living cells rely on the ability of the cytoskeleton to continuously form and destroy diverse structures, which is strongly coupled to the adhesion processes. The groups at the Center for functional Protein Assemblies at the TUM study the physical basis of the underlying self-organization processes and are looking for a Light Microscopy Facility Manager / PostDoc (f/m)

The Mission The Research at the Center of Protein Assemblies focuses on the understanding of protein functions. We aim to unravel how the interplay of proteins leads to a biological function – the reconstitution of functional modules being the ultimate goal. We take an interdisciplinary approach and use high resolution microscopy, in vitro reconstitution, cell biology, and mathematical modelling. For running the light microscopy facility, we are seeking to hire a person with outstanding expertise in different modes of light microscopy (Confocal and Epi-fluorescence, TIRF, FLIM, STORM), imaging processing and with interest in further pushing the limits of existing technologies.

Your Qualification: - High motivation, curiosity, and commitment to scientific excellence - Master's or Ph.D. degree in physics, cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics or similar fields - Extensive practical lab experience with light microscopy - Extensive expertise in digital imaging processing, including machine learning approaches - Interest in interdisciplinary and quantitative biology - Excellent skills in spoken as well as written English

Our offer Remuneration and benefits in accordance with the collective agreement for the public service (TV-L13, 100%). The position is (initially) limited to two years with the possibility of an extension.

As a holder of the Total E-Quality Award, we promote equality of opportunity. In order to increase the proportion of women in management positions, we would be pleased to receive corresponding applications. Qualified applicants with physical disabilities will be given preference.

We are looking forward to receiving your comprehensive application preferably per E-mail (cpa@tum.de).
