Faculty Position in Education

University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education

The Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania invites nominations and applications for a tenure-line faculty position (open rank) in higher education.

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate and a strong record of research productivity and, for more senior applicants, teaching excellence. We seek scholars whose work examines the public purposes of higher education and the role colleges and universities play in strengthening democracy. Of particular interest are individuals whose work focuses in the areas of organizational change, leadership, and/or policy and has implications for the administration of higher education institutions. We welcome scholars with training in disciplinary areas including sociology, history of education, and management. Applicants will be reviewed based on their unique theoretical and/or methodological contributions. We expect the successful candidate to provide intellectual leadership, through teaching in our traditional and executive format masters and doctoral programs, advising, and research, and contributing to division and cross-divisional programs.

Application Instructions

We will begin reviewing nominations and applications on October 15, 2021, but will continue to consider new applications until the position is filled.  Please send a letter expressing your interest and general qualifications, curriculum vitae, three references, and three relevant publications/manuscripts.

Penn GSE seeks candidates who, through their research, teaching, and service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The Higher Education Division strongly encourages applications from individuals who identify as members of groups that are underrepresented.
