Limited Term Faculty (LTF) Position in Entrepreneurship

Located in downtown Toronto, the largest and most culturally diverse city in Canada and on the  territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples, the Department of  Entrepreneurship & Strategy in the Ted Rogers School of Management at invites applications for a Limited Term Faculty (LTF) position at the rank of Assistant Professor in areas of Entrepreneurship. The appointment shall be effective August 1, 2021 for a one year term, subject to final budgetary approval. 

The successful candidate will engage only in the teaching and service duties of faculty members in the Department, while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across such activities. Specific courses likely to be delivered will come from the following list:

  • BSM 100: The New Business: From Idea to Reality
  • ENT 527: Theories in Entrepreneurship
  • MB 8125: Planning Your Startup
  • MB 8128: Starting Your Startup
  • MBA Summer Capstone Projects

Candidates must hold an earned Doctorate in Entrepreneurship or a closely related field by the appointment date. Practical experience in the field would be considered an asset. In addition, candidates must present evidence of: 

  • excellence in teaching in closely-related courses must be provided through a teaching dossier that outlines the teaching philosophy, teaching accomplishments, including experience with course/curriculum review/development, excellent pedagogical practice, sample syllabi and teaching evaluations;  
  • strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to supervise and coach undergraduate and graduate students; 
  • experience teaching entrepreneurship at the graduate level; 
  • demonstrated commitment to our values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion as it pertains to service, teaching, and scholarly research or creative activities, including a demonstrated ability to make learning accessible and inclusive for a diverse student population; and 
  • ability to contribute to the life of the Department and the University through collegial service. 

Note: Limited Term Faculty appointments at Ryerson University may not exceed a combined total of four years. Applicants with prior Ryerson LTF appointments need to consider this limitation, as it may render them ineligible to apply. 

This position falls under the jurisdiction of the Ryerson Faculty Association (RFA) ().

Department of Entrepreneurship & Strategy

The Department of Entrepreneurship & Strategy consists of 14 tenure-stream faculty members. The Department supports undergraduate and graduate (Master’s and PhD) programs across campus. Our faculty prides itself on the excellence of its research and on the quality of its teaching.
