The Flight Operations Engineer position sits within the UNSW Canberra Space Team in the School of Engineering and Information Technology (SEIT), and reports to the Flight Operations Lead. This role is critical to the successful operations of our M2 Pathfinder and M2 missions currently on-orbit.

Role:                     Flight Operations Engineer
Salary:                  Broadband Level 7/8

Level 7: $98,354 - $106, 449 plus 17% super and leave loading
Level 8 $109, 944 - $123, 876 plus 17% Superannuation          

Term:                     Full Time, Fixed Term

 About the Successful Applicants

To be successful in this role you will:            

  • Hold a degree in engineering or related discipline with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Have experience in space engineering and/or remote asset operations.
  • Have experience in experiment design, execution, and data analysis.
  • Have knowledge of software development and verification processes.
  • Have an ability to solve problems with limited data sets.
  • Have an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have excellent communication ability.
  • Be willing to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly shifting priorities.
  • Be patient with strong attention to detail.
