The professorship shall focus both in research and teaching on handling large database systems, heterogeneously structured data, as well as their automatic integration and analysis. Candidates must have an excellent track record in at least one and preferably a combination of multiple of the following research fields:
Strong candidates follow a research strategy that includes well-founded basic research, ideally in combination with convincing application cases with reference to practical implementations. The university expects interest in the collaboration with other professorships at the department. Cooperation with the life, environmental, or social sciences, or the jurisprudence is desirable, and also with one of the existing or newly granted clusters of excellence.
Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.
