The Graduate School of Education's program in Education, Culture, and Society at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a part-time instructor to teach up to two sections of the following, graduate level-course in Spring 2022, with potential for other offerings in future semesters:

QUALITATIVE MODES OF INQUIRY is an introductory, graduate-level course for master’s students that serves as a pre-requisite for more advanced qualitative methods courses, and usually enrolls 20-25 students per section. Subject to approval, the instructor will have some flexibility to modify the existing syllabus, although the course should include some hands-on practice with qualitative data.

Responsibilities include leading weekly discussions in person, holding regular on-campus office hours, and grading student papers. The Spring 2022 semester runs from January 12 to April 27, 2022.


Position requirements:

- A doctorate in education, or a relevant social science; 

- At least two years teaching experience;

- Experience with qualitative research methods; and

- Instructors must present proof of covid vaccination.
