Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Sonographer to join our Medical Education Department as a Clinical Skills Instructor specializing in ultrasound education. The successful candidate will play a key role in teaching undergraduate medical students the principles and practical application of ultrasound across various clinical contexts, from basic anatomy visualization in early years to point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) skills in senior years. This position involves active participation in hands-on training, simulation-based education, curriculum development, and the day-to-day operations of the Simulation Centre. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the integration of ultrasound into medical education within a dynamic academic environment. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver and facilitate ultrasound training sessions, including basic, advanced, and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) techniques for medical students (Years 1–6). • Teach ultrasound-related anatomy, image acquisition, interpretation skills, and clinical applications through simulation and practical workshops. • Support the integration of ultrasound education into the medical curriculum across pre-clinical and clinical years. • Assist in developing teaching materials, protocols, and assessment tools for ultrasound competency. • Prepare, operate, and maintain ultrasound machines, simulators, and related equipment. • Participate in OSCEs and other assessment formats involving ultrasound skills. • Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and the medical education team to ensure high-quality delivery of ultrasound education. • Provide mentorship and guidance to students in developing ultrasound proficiency. • Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and education through continuous professional development. • Support interprofessional education initiatives involving ultrasound applications. • Contribute to research or quality improvement projects related to ultrasound in medical education.

Minimum Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent qualification AND Master's degree in Health Education or relevant field. • Certified/Registered Sonographer (e.g., ARDMS, ASAR, HCPC, or equivalent licensure). • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical ultrasound experience. • Experience or demonstrated interest in teaching, particularly in an academic or healthcare training environment. • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
