Summary Description
The Department of Pediatrics invites applications for a rank of Instructor to work as a 4th year Pediatric Interventional Cardiology Fellowship position in the Division of Cardiology. During the course of the one-year program, the trainee will learn to perform catheterization procedures for a wide variety of clinical situations involving patients from neonatal age to adulthood with both congenital and acquired heart disease. This will include diagnostic, interventional and hybrid catheterization procedures performed in the catheterization laboratory and the operating room. In addition to the technical skill component, training will include hemodynamic data interpretation, interpretation of angiography, 3D reconstruction, intracardiac echocardiography (ICE), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) relevant to the cardiovascular system. The trainee is expected to participate in teaching and training of categorical fellows and staff. Prospective trainees are expected to present a research project in abstract form at a national meeting and submit a manuscript for publication in a peer reviewed journal during the course of the year. Our team includes four full-time interventional cardiologists and three congenital heart surgeons; we perform more than 1100 transcatheter procedures and 700 open heart surgeries per year making us the largest congenital heart center in the state of New York.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have an active NYS Medical license.
