Job Summary
The College of Media, Communications and Information encourages applications for an Instructor in Public Relations. This full-time faculty position within the Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design (APRD) will teach three courses per semester and support the ongoing development of our public relations curriculum. This position also requires a service obligation to the department or college that the successful candidate for this position will determine in consultation with the department chair of APRD. The successful candidate is also expected to help the department maintain relationships with the public relations industry and generating opportunities for students to meet professionals. This is a three-year position, with the potential for renewal, with a start date of Fall 2023.
We are looking for a visionary instructor who can help us to continue to build our national reputation for our public relations program - a highly popular track in our Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communication. The program includes courses in public relations strategy and implementation, international public relations, crisis communication, public relations case studies, digital storytelling, strategic communication writing, and our capstone campaigns course, among others.

What We Can Offer
The salary range is $70,000 - $75,000 annually, plus benefits.

What We Require
- Experience teaching public relations courses at the university level, including proven quality of teaching and curricular vision.
- At least five years' experience in the public relations industry developing communications strategies for nationally or internationally recognized organizations.
- Experience working with senior management. An MBA or master’s degree in public relations, strategic communications or an allied field (e.g., Journalism, Marketing, Public Administration, English, etc.).
- Experience with inclusive pedagogies and the mentoring of a diverse range of undergraduate students.
