The Comparative Literature Program at UC Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach courses in the Comparative Literature Program for upcoming openings. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department.
The Program is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The use of a lecturer pool does not guarantee that an open position exists at the time you are applying.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship. Also, please note that the Department cannot reimburse travel or moving expenses for interviewing or relocating to our campus and that benefits such as health insurance may only be allocated to full-time employees.

Completion of the Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) in Comparative Literature or other cognate fields by the start date of the position.
Applicants should submit names and contact information for 3-4 references. After interviews, the committee may contact the references of finalists.
