Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Condensed Matter Theory within the Department of Physics. We are seeking a candidate whose expertise will strengthen our academic mission to deliver world-class scholarship, education and research. The appointee is expected to have a strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics in the area of materials and devices for quantum technologies.
Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Condensed Matter Theory within the Department of Physics. We are seeking a candidate whose expertise will strengthen our academic mission to deliver world-class scholarship, education and research. The appointee is expected to have a strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics in the area of materials and devices for quantum technologies.
The appointee will be part of the Condensed Matter Theory Group and also affiliated to the Condensed Matter Physics Section (Condensed Matter Theory Group & Experimental Solid State Physics Group) within the Department of Physics. The Condensed Matter Physics Section comprises 21 academic staff with expertise in the following areas: correlated quantum systems, theory and simulations of materials, metamaterials & plasmonics, complexity science, superconducting spintronics and topological qubits, classical and quantum nanotechnology and nanophotonics; materials for energy applications, with particular strength in photovoltaics; the physics of inorganic, organic and hybrid semiconductors and their applications; solution processable optoelectronics; superconductivity; nanomagnetism and magnonics.
