The HASS cluster at SUTD invites applications for a full-time, teaching-track faculty position in Economics, with a focus on empirical research in areas including but not limited to:
Behavioral economics
Econometrics
Macroeconomics
Research on topics relevant to design, technology, or artificial intelligence (AI) is preferred.
Appointments are initially three-year contracts, renewable subject to review.
Lead the development and teaching of new undergraduate courses in Economics for an interdisciplinary B.Sc. degree in Design, AI, and Economics.
Teach courses in the undergraduate core curriculum, such as introductory social science courses or research methods.
Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives, particularly in areas connecting Economics, Design, and AI, collaborating with colleagues in engineering, architecture, computer science, and design.
Mentor students, including capstone projects that integrate research on human problems with technological innovation.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Excellent record of effective university-level teaching.
Potential to develop new directions in interdisciplinary teaching.
Interest in collaborating with scientists, engineers, and technologists.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in collaborating with industry or public sector partners.
Interest or experience in Economics research relevant to technology or AI.
