The Environmental Studies minor program with John Muir College at UC San Diego is looking for Lecturers with teaching experience in Environmental Studies, from a variety of perspectives: e.g., natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and policy. Several non-tenure track, temporary lectureships will be available for the 2020-2021 academic year (if needed, applicants may be considered for the current 2019-20 academic year). Appointments may vary from one quarter to three quarters. Instructors may teach variable courses within the Environmental Studies minor program including, but not limited to, Intro to Environmental Studies (ENVR 30), Environmental Law (ENVR 110), Urban Ecology (ENVR 102), Coastal Ecology (ENVR 120), Wilderness and Human Values Workshop (ENVR 141)

An M.A. degree in Environmental Studies, Ecology or other related field required by start of appointment

The successful applicant should have:

  • Solid teaching experience in a University setting in Environmental Studies, from a variety of perspectives: e.g., natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and policy, depending upon which courses have positions open
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity and inclusion, and a desire to play a leadership role in advancing UC San Diego’s commitment to achieving excellence and diversity
