Position Description

The Department of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of LECTURER part-time (temporary), to serve as coordinator for the 5-credit undergraduate level class Genome 371 (Introductory Genetics; Autumn quarter every year; taught by Dr. M. K. Raghuraman).  Responsibilities will include preparation of material for hands-on exercises (such as yeast and fruit fly experiments), leading the first quiz section each week of the class, helping train the teaching assistants, helping with proofing and grading of tests/exams, and handling administration for the class.

Please note: The position initially is for Autumn Quarter 2022 (Sep 16 – Dec 15), with the possibility of being renewed annually if mutually acceptable.  The position requires full time effort on campus for the Autumn quarter.


Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or M.S. degree or foreign equivalent in biological sciences, and must have prior experience in teaching genetics at the undergraduate level.
