Lecturer in Language

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, conduct, facilitate and review language and communications programmes for targeted groups, including adult learners.  This includes face-to-face as well as online instruction and interaction.
• Design and conduct learning needs analysis to develop online learning packages, language proficiency tests and appropriate self-directed learning packages
• Conduct research study on current educational trends
• Conduct data analysis on the student learning profile as well as needs and implement relevant intervention strategy when necessary
• Mentor students in pastoral care and to lead/facilitate Personal Development & Effectiveness modules
• Design/support modules or initiatives to enhance students’ learning experience such as through field trips and programs conducted both locally and overseas
• Lead/support Centre’s initiatives such as student development, orientation, programme promotion, outreach and other training/publicity/administrative work or event, where applicable
• Lead/support initiatives or events at centre/school/polytechnic level

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualification in related field (such as English Language, Literature, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Mass Communication, Technical Writing, Education, Art & Social Sciences etc.) or
   
  Qualification in other fields, with professional certification and experience in the following area(s):
  - CELTA, advanced certification in career development facilitation
  - Curriculum design, development and assessment
  - Designing, delivering and evaluating online courses
  
  
• Minimum 3 years teaching experience
• Experience in analysing students’ results and performance to understand students’ learning needs
• Ability to lead and facilitate discussions, mediate different opinions and evaluate reasoning
• A passion to share knowledge and facilitate learning
• Genuine interest to interact with youths
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and familiarity with new media
