Position description

Language Science Lecturer Pool
The Department of Language Science is establishing a pool of qualified applicants to be considered to serve as temporary, part-time Lecturers during the 2021-22 academic year. Qualified applicants will need to be able to teach one or more courses in areas of language science including theoretical linguistics, language acquisition, psycholinguistics, bilingualism, sociolinguistics, computational linguistics, corpus linguistics, and applied language science.

These positions may be available during the Fall 2021, Winter 2022 and/or Spring 2022 based on departmental needs. We are seeking candidates with strong teaching credentials who can contribute to the quality of our undergraduate Language Science program. The number of courses available varies by quarter and year. Candidates should have a Ph.D.

The review process will begin on July 30, 2021, and screening will continue until positions are filled, with a final closing date of February 25, 2022. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. If you would like to be considered after that time, and the pooled position is advertised again, you will need to submit a new application.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Linguistics or relate d field.
Candidates must have prior teaching experience in Linguistics or related field.
