Purdue Global’s School of Multidisciplinary and Professional Studies has an opening for Adjunct Faculty members in the Mathematics department.
Job Summary
Purdue University Global offers term by term, non-tenured teaching appointments to qualified individuals who are dedicated to providing quality educational experiences to students in Associates, Bachelors, Masters degree and doctorate level courses for the DBA programs. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community wherein faculty contribute to and engage in instructional best practice for adult learners in an innovative, nontraditional university setting.
Adjunct faculty have part-time teaching roles. Adjunct faculty can teach up to 3 courses per term, not to exceed 10 courses per year. This role participates in continuing professional development and may also engage in faculty governance and curriculum work as needed. Additional service activities may be assigned. Scholarship is not required. Teaching assignments may fluctuate and are contingent upon the schedule of courses. Adjunct faculty deliver high-quality instruction and foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment conducive to student success.
What to Expect in This Role
- Provides a student-centered learning environment which enables students to attain success
- Requires a one-hour synchronous seminar for each course assignment, with sessions held at fixed times between 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. ET
- Teaches synchronous or asynchronous seminars (10-week units) as assigned
- Maintains virtual office hours per week for each class
- Ensures timely response to electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other University officials
- Leads message board discussions and engages students in coursework
- Partners with Academic Advisors to address student concerns
- Refers students requiring ADA accommodations to Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and complies with accommodations in writing
- Maintains and submits accurate and timely student grade/progress reports
- Delivers mid-term and final grades per academic calendar
- Enforces student conduct policies
- Attends University, departmental, and faculty meetings as requested
- Remains current with trends and technology relevant to the program
- Performs additional duties as assigned
Experience
- Minimum of an earned doctorate in statistics, applied mathematics, data analysis, or closely related field
- 1–3 years related professional experience and/or training
- Online higher education teaching experience preferred

Additional Information
- Purdue University Global will not sponsor employment authorization for this position
- Adjunct compensation varies per course based on enrollment and program type
- Typical pay: approximately $2800 per 10-week course (School of General Education benchmark)
- Retirement benefits include 3% automatic 403(b) contribution plus up to 4% match with optional 457(b) participation
