Lecturer in Organizational Leadership

The Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations (LPO) of Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College seeks a faculty member in the area of Organizational Leadership.  This appointment is for a non-tenure track position as lecturer. 

The lecturer should have a strong background in the areas of leadership, and/or organizational performance.  The role for this lecturer position is primarily instructional; therefore, evidence of success in teaching undergraduate and master’s-level students is critical. This position will be responsible for teaching in undergraduate tracks in the Human and Organizational Development (HOD) major and in the Leadership and Organizational Performance (LOP). The individual will be responsible for teaching courses in Leadership, as well as Organizational Theory and Behavior, and Learning Organizations. Preference will be given to those with experience and expertise in global leadership in an international context. Lecturers serve as advisers to both graduate and undergraduate students and participate actively in program development. 

Candidates for lecturer must have an earned doctorate in a field of relevance to the study of leadership and organizational performance (such as organizational behavior, industrial psychology, management, or a social science discipline), as well as instructional and professional experience relevant to their areas of instruction. 


Candidates must have an earned doctorate in a field such as Organizational Learning, Learning and Design, Learning Science or closely related disciplines. Background or experience in teaching professional degree students, including at the professional doctoral-level or MBA students is critical, and online teaching experience is preferred. Candidates are expected to have excellent teaching credentials. Candidates also should be prepared to teach students from diverse professional backgrounds.
