The UCLA Department of Ethnomusicology invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Women in Jazz for Spring quarter of the 2020-21 academic year. Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load.

Responsibilities will include individual student teaching supervision and assigned undergraduate ethnomusicology courses. Additional responsibilities may include advising credential candidates on preparing standardized assessment documents and other issues related to certification.

Applicants should have an established regional, national, and/or international reputation as a music educator with expertise and experience in the sociocultural history of women in jazz and allied musical traditions from 1880s to present. Survey of women vocalists, instrumentalists, composers/arrangers, and producers and their impact on development of jazz. A post-baccalaureate degree is required.
