(Level A) $70,346 to $94,588 / (Level B) $99,441 to $117,627 / (Level C) $121,256 to $139,445 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation may apply. 

Multiple academic roles are now available within the newly established School of Allied Health Science and Practice in the areas of Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy.

Full-time and part-time positions are available with convertible tenure for Associate Lecturer (Level A), Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C)

The successful candidates will bring their skill, creativity and experience in developing course material for the Program and play a pivotal role in teaching and research at The University of Adelaide.

Candidates with special interests in the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:


  • Neurological Physiotherapy
  • Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy
  • Paediatric Physiotherapy

Speech Pathology:

  • Adult Dysphagia, Cognition and Language
  • Voice and Fluency

Occupational Therapy:

  • Mental Health
  • Paediatrics
  • Neurological

To be successful as a Level A you will need:

  • Current registration, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, or be registered, or eligible for registration, with Speech Pathology Australia as a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in teaching, conducting tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations and/or workshops.
  • Demonstrated research interest in a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to mark and assess effectively and to provide support to students by delivering appropriate feedback.
  • Experience in developing course material with appropriate guidance from the Course or Program Coordinator.

In addition to the above, to be successful as a Level B you will need:

  • Completion of an honours degree, higher qualifications, or equivalent, and strong research interests with demonstrated ability for cross-disciplinary research and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated experience in the conduct of student field excursions and clinical sessions.
  • Demonstrated experience as a professional educator with knowledge of current clinical education issues across Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy, and related disciplines, and the capacity to deliver new projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in innovative teaching methods and curriculum development, and expertise in the delivery of evidence-based practice in a relevant discipline area.

To be successful as a Level C you will need:

  • A Doctoral or Masters Degree in Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy.
  • A record of academic achievement of national standing through significant contributions, including academic leadership, scholarship of teaching, research, innovation or professional activity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary practices gained through industry experience and/or scholarly activities or similar, including practice in rural and regional areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others in the delivery of high quality course and subject design, and in the delivery of high quality student centred learning and teaching at an undergraduate level, that includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning.
