The Department of Banking and Finance has recruited from top universities around the world and has developed a vibrant research culture.

The department comprises approximately 55 academic staff engaging in teaching and research in the areas of banking, behavioural and household finance, financial institutions, corporate finance, asset pricing, market microstructure, and derivatives. We have first-class research resources and infrastructure, including a research IT manager, an extensive set of databases and an excellent seminar series.  Generous support for research via an internal funding scheme that facilitates conference participation, research assistance and computing hardware/software purchases.

We invite applicants to become a part of our success, and contribute to our exceptional research and education portfolio. As a successful candidate, you will contribute to (and for Level C, provide leadership to) teaching and research activities in the Finance discipline. The successful candidate(s) will work with the Head of the Department and other academic staff members to develop and implement the department’s strategic plan, to enhance the teaching and research goals and be responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The role may also have responsibilities of course coordination, teaching-related administration duties and seminar coordination.

Successful candidates have completed a PhD in Finance and have a demonstrated ability and clear commitment to excellence in teaching and research, with the evidence of potential of publishing in top tier finance journals.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
