The College of Business and Economics consists of the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, the School of Management and Marketing, and the Australian Institute of Health Service Management.

The Opportunity

The University of Tasmania invites applications for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Economics (Health and wellbeing), within the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance.

This position will deliver exemplary teaching in health and/or wellbeing economics positioning the Bachelor of Economics degree as a degree of quality and distinctiveness, while undertaking high-quality research of national and international standing. Applicants with a behavioral and experimental economics background are especially encouraged to apply.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Make an effective (Level B), or strong (Level C) contribution to the University in achieving it’s high-level objectives and fulfill operational responsibilities.
  • Undertake high-quality research of national and international standing, secure funding, publish research findings and supervise higher degree students.
  • Provide academic leadership in fostering outstanding research and/or learning and teaching (Level C).
  • Undertake scholarly undergraduate and postgraduate coursework teaching in the field of health and/or wellbeing economics.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links.

­Your Application

To be successful in the role, your cover letter will need to demonstrate;

  • A PhD in the field of Economics or a similar relevant field.
  • A good (Level B), or strong (Level C) record in and continuing commitment to research in Economics that has achieved national recognition.
  • A record of good contributions to successful research higher degree supervision and completions (Level C).
  • Experience and achievement in University-level learning and teaching in the field of health and/or wellbeing economics.
  • Capacity to build and maintain effective and productive links.
  • A behavioral and experimental economics background (desirable).

Remuneration

Level B - Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $133,842 comprising base salary within the range of $98,537 to $114,395 plus 17% superannuation.

Level C - Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $158,046 comprising base salary within the range of $118,946 to $135,082 plus 17% superannuation.
