Overview

The Chemistry submission, in particular, was ranked 7th in the UK for research outputs. Computational research at QMUL is supported by the shared High Performance Computing facility Apocrita (12,000+ computing cores). QMUL is also a partner in the Materials and Molecular Modelling (MMM) Hub, a UK-wide consortium that provides Tier-2 resources to the computational community in UK.

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Reader in Computational Pharmaceutical Chemistry, as part of our ongoing investment and expansion in research excellence. You will be expected to develop an innovative teaching and research portfolio in Computational Pharmaceutical Chemistry, publishing world-class research that will lead to a successful externally funded research program supporting postdoctoral research staff and PhD students, and establishing links with industry. In addition to teaching postgraduate and undergraduate students you will perform the normal administrative duties expected of a member of academic staff. 

You will hold a PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline with an excellent track record of research in computational chemistry with applications in medicinal/pharmaceutical chemistry and will be expected to be committed to the delivery of high-quality teaching at postgraduate and undergraduate levels.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full time, indefinite post with an expected start date of September 2021. The salary will be Grade 5-6, £43,069 - £53,625 per annum for Lecturer and grade 7, £56,678 - £63,351 per annum for Senior Lecturer/Reader, inclusive of London Allowance.
