Lectureship in Physics, Quantum Technology, Biological/ Medical Physics or Environmental Physics, Department of Physics

Permanent Whole Time Post

The Department of Physics, University College Cork (UCC) invites applications for a permanent whole time lectureship, with specialisation in quantum technology, biological/medical physics or environmental physics.

Applicants must hold a doctoral qualification in Physics or a closely related area, and a portfolio of research accomplishments and publications. The appointee will be required to contribute teaching to the range of BSc degrees offered by the Department of Physics, as well as at postgraduate level. Demonstrated teaching ability is highly desirable, as is ability to generate research funding and develop cooperative activities with industry. Applicants should have research interests and accomplishments specific to quantum technology, biological/medical physics or environmental physics, with preference given to areas of expertise which enhance current strengths in these areas the Department of Physics, or which establish new expertise in emerging areas.

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer Salary Scale: €34,748 - €61,370 / €67,073 - €86,241 (Scale B) Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy***.***
