Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechanics and related areas; (ii) Supervise both undergraduate and graduate student research projects; (iii) Conduct research in the area of mechanics and also complement existing research activities; (iv) Participate in other academic and professional activities of the department; (v) Render professional service and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related areas; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research; (iii) teaching experience in the area of mechanics at a university or comparable institution and evidence of governance and social engagement will be added advantages.
Under special circumstances a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of at least 2(i) pass/GPA and/or at least 3.6 equivalent may be considered.
