We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven researcher who will conduct research at the intersection of psychology, data science, and business. Your research will unravel the psychology of managerial decisions, examine how managers (mis)interpret data, and explore the development of debiasing solutions. We offer a full-time employment for 4 years, starting in the fall of 2023. The exact starting date can be agreed upon.
We are looking for someone with a background/interest in psychology, businesses, and statistical modeling. We especially encourage you to apply if you have a Master degree (or will have such a degree at the start of the academic year 2023-2024) in Psychology, Economics, Business Economics, Business Engineering, or Business Administration. The ability to use statistical software (such as R or SAS), knowledge of a programming language (such as Java or Python), and a high level of English proficiency are a plus.
Our ambition is to train a world-class behavioral scientist and future professor in business. You will work under the guidance of Prof. dr. Bart De Langhe, and will be supported by a young and dynamic research group at KU Leuven and Vlerick Business School. We will help you to develop collaborations with an international network of scholars and industry partners. You will take doctoral courses at KU Leuven (and/or partner universities) in business, psychology, statistics, computer science, and related areas, depending on your interests. You will present your research findings at the most influential research centers and conferences around the world (such as the Society of Judgment and Decision Annual Meeting, the Association of Consumer Research Conference, or the ISMS Marketing Science Conference), and that you will aim to publish your research findings in the best peer-reviewed scientific journals in business and psychology (such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Management Science, or Psychological Science).
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Prof. dr. Bart De Langhe via email (bart.delanghe@kuleuven.be), always including a short introductory text, and your CV.
