Remuneration: The successful applicant will receive a tax-free stipend of $35,000 per annum 2023 full-time rate plus the opportunity for a paid internship with our industry partner, the Business Council of Cooperatives and Mutuals (BCCM).

The Opportunity:

The Monash Business School is among the 1% of business schools worldwide to be awarded ‘triple accreditation’ by the major global business school accreditation bodies – AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. The Monash Business School is one that prides itself on its strategic research and development.

The Monash Business School’s Mutual Value Lab is excited to be the research partner on BCCM’s Care Together program – an education, advisory and support program that will assist cooperatives and mutuals to develop sustainable service delivery in areas where current approaches are not working, including a focus on regional, rural and remote parts of Australia.

The PhD Scholarship will provide the successful applicant with a tremendous opportunity to be a central part of the research team in the Mutual Value Lab working with BCCM on the Care Together project. You will work with supervisors to explore and solve pressing problems in social care. And you will work collaboratively with organisations in the cooperative and mutual sector, enabling you to establish an industry presence and develop leadership networks.

Eligibility requirements:

Applicants must be Australian citizens or Permanent Residents. Applicants will be considered provided that they fulfil the criteria for PhD admission at Monash University and demonstrate excellent research capability. We welcome applicants with a variety of backgrounds, including in business, economics, social sciences and/or humanities, and those with relevant industry experience.
