Overview

The School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham invites applications for a fully funded PhD studentship in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry. The studentship covers tuition fees and provides a stipend for eligible UK students.

This award provides 4 years of funding, starting October 2026.

Project Description

The PhD candidate will work under Prof. Elena Besley on computational modelling of next-generation semiconductors made from atomically thin materials.

The computational team collaborates with academia and industry partners to address challenges in the science and technology of atomically thin semiconductors for low-energy-consumption electronics.
