The Keller lab in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis has a post-doctoral position opening aimed at characterizing adaptive immune responses in animals using high-throughput methodologies. The candidate will focus on establishing phage immunoprecipitation sequencing (PhIP-seq) to characterize antibody responses to viral pathogens and autoimmune antigens in animals. This includes phage library design, library generation, immunoprecipitation, next generation sequencing library preparation and interpretation of sequencing data. Other employed methods are ELISA, single cell RNA-seq and B- and T-cell receptor sequencing. The candidate will work closely with researchers and clinicians from different fields and specialties.

Ongoing project & research topics include:
• Antibody responses to coronaviruses including SARS-CoV-2 in different animal species
• Antibody responses to viruses in dogs
• Identification of autoimmune targets in dogs
• Immune repertoire profiling in spontaneous diseases of companion animals

• Design and execute experiments, interpret and document outcome
• Present research findings in the form of seminars, publications, etc.
• Support graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory
• Participate in maintaining laboratory safety
