Investigate mechanisms and functions of primary cilia, crucial for embryonic development, tissue homeostasis, and disease (ciliopathies, cancer).
Focus areas:
Distal appendages and associated kinases
Molecular motors controlling ciliary trafficking
Methods: cell/animal models, proteomics, gene editing, lentiviral transduction, live-cell imaging, super-resolution microscopy
Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field
Ph.D. awarded within the past 7 years, with ≥2 years of research outside the Czech Republic in the last 3 years or Ph.D. from an international institution within the past 3 years
Strong publication record: minimum 3 recent articles, ≥2 in Q1 journals
Skills in:
Mammalian cell culture
Molecular biology techniques
Advanced microscopy (live-cell imaging/super-resolution advantageous)
Ability to independently plan experiments, think critically, solve problems, and communicate effectively
Motivation, creativity, and self-driven initiative
