Join the RE:HOME project as a junior postdoctoral researcher and help develop smart, personalised home-rehabilitation technology for children with neurological conditions. Work with leading international partners to create real impact in healthcare.
The RE:HOME project (Smart technologies for personalised home care for neurological paediatric patients) involves partners from France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. Funded by Interreg North-West Europe (NWE), the project aims to build and test a rehabilitation platform that enables home rehabilitation through personalised feedback and monitoring of health data, rehabilitation progress, and quality of life.
As a junior postdoctoral researcher, you will:
Develop algorithms for monitoring and assessing perception and motor behaviour in hospital and home settings
Focus on sensorimotor integration within the perception-action cycle
Participate in patient studies to understand human functioning, disorders, and test new technologies
Collaborate closely with colleagues from the Donders Institute and Sint Maartenskliniek, a partner rehabilitation hospital
Contribute to management, mentoring (PhD, MSc, BSc students), and teaching-related tasks
You are a strong candidate if you:
Hold a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., sensorimotor neuroscience, human movement sciences, biomedical engineering, AI, computational neuroscience)
Have experience and interest in probabilistic or other modelling approaches to sensorimotor control
Possess strong social, communication, and organisational skills
Are a team player
Experience with behavioural and patient studies and supervising students is advantageous
Temporary employment contract of 22 months
Salary within scale 11, based on education and experience (38-hour work week)
8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus
