School of Engineering Sciences at KTH
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work on development of experimental methods for two-phase flows. We aim to develop a probe for measurement of void fraction and velocity at prototypic reactor conditions. The work includes development of methods for manufacturing miniature sensors and using these sensors in the HWAT facility.
The HWAT facility was developed to study thermohydraulic phenomena relevant to small modular reactors (SMRs). The work is part of a collaborative project in Europe and a national project supported by the Swedish nuclear regulator (SSM).
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
Doctoral degree in experimental nuclear engineering, micro-mechanics, sol-gel chemistry, or experimental thermohydraulics.
A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.
Knowledge and experience in:
Experimental investigation of two-phase flows
Sol-gel coating
Micro-mechanical manufacturing
High-frequency signal processing
Good communication and collaborative skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Strong motivation and dedication to research work.
Teaching experience is an advantage.
Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
