Posting Summary

A Post-Doctoral Associate position in ultrafast spectroscopy of complex materials and interfaces is available for well-qualified and motivated applicants. The appointment will be initially for 12 months with an extension possible depending on satisfactory performance, need for the position, and availability of funding.

Current projects in the group rely on the uses of ultrafast spectroscopy and Kerr-gated microscopy for the study of photoinduced electron and exciton transfer in dendrimers, at molecule-metal and molecule-semiconductor interfaces. Dynamic processes that occur far from thermal equilibrium are of particular interest. In addition to carrying out his/her research projects in one or more of the above areas, the Post-Doctoral Associate will help to train graduate students and participate in collaborative efforts. He/she will provide the high-level technical expertise, oversight, and routine maintenance of three femtosecond laser systems. Creativity and ability to work independently are expected.
