The Fenghua Hu Lab (hu.wicmb.cornell.edu) studies molecular and cellular mechanisms of neurodegeneration, with a focus on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The lab emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to understand disease pathophysiology and to develop innovative experimental strategies.
Postdoctoral positions are available for candidates with a recent Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or neuroscience. Successful candidates will conduct research on cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience with mouse models
Expertise in membrane trafficking or lysosome biology
Candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Fenghua Hu (fh87@cornell.edu) for additional information.
Conduct molecular and cellular experiments to elucidate mechanisms of neurodegeneration
Collaborate with other lab members on experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation
Contribute to manuscript preparation and grant proposals
Participate in lab meetings and interdisciplinary discussions at the Weill Institute
Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, or a related field
Prior laboratory research experience in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, or neuroscience
Experience with mouse models of disease
Knowledge of membrane trafficking and/or lysosomal biology
At the Weill Institute for Cell and Molecular Biology, researchers explore fundamental mechanisms of cellular function, health, and disease. The Institute promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and supports innovation that advances scientific knowledge and human health.
