Your Tasks

In the framework of current running research projects, we are looking for an additional PhD fellow.

In these projects, we identified several differentially expressed microRNAs and circular RNAs by comparing good and badly developing embryos from cattle and horse. The aim is now to study the function of these small ncRNAs during early embryo development.

We are specifically looking for someone to work on the topic:

"Functional analysis of small ncRNAs in biological fluids and culture media of bovine or equine embryos."

The choice of species will be determined by the preference of the selected candidate.

What We Are Looking For

Applicants should have:

  • A scientific attitude.
  • A European Master's degree in:
    • Biotechnology
    • Medicine
    • Veterinary Medicine
    • Biomedical Sciences
    • Pharmaceutical Sciences
    • Bioengineering
    • Biology
    • Or a related discipline

The degree must be obtained by 1 October 2026.

High academic achievements and hands-on experience with molecular genetic techniques are considered an advantage but are not mandatory.

What We Can Offer You

  • A full-time doctoral fellow position.
  • An initial appointment of 12 months, which—following a positive evaluation—will be extended to a maximum of 48 months.
  • Earliest contract start date: 1 October 2026.
  • A fellowship amount equal to 100% of the net salary of an AAP member in equivalent family circumstances.
  • The individual fellowship amount is determined by Team Personnel Administration based on family status and seniority.
  • A doctoral fellowship that meets the applicable regulations is exempt from personal income tax.
