Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (Several Posts) in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 516861), to commence as soon as possible for three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or equivalent, and a strong research background in the creative design and synthesis of low dimensional materials and porous structures.  They should have experience or exposure in the multidisciplinary environment in association with the development of (photo-)electrochemical catalysts, electrolysers, and/or solid-state batteries.  They should also demonstrate a clear understanding of charge-carrier interactions with nanostructures, and have knowledge of a wide range of spectroscopic, microstructural and thermochemical characteristics of such structures and related characterisation techniques.  Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese, good organizational and leadership skills, a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to work independently, and self-motivation are essential.  The appointees will work in the predictive discovery of new structures for energy applications under the supervision of Professor Z.X.
