This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Professor Gita Gopinath on cutting-edge research in international finance and macroeconomics. The position is ideal for candidates planning to pursue a Ph.D. in economics and seeking hands-on research experience before graduate school.
Tariffs and trade policy
Stablecoins and digital currencies
Optimal policy design in open economies
Broader topics in international macroeconomics and finance
Conduct empirical analysis
Review and summarize academic literature
Assistant in theoretical and computational modeling
Prepare presentations and draft sections of research papers
Location: Department of Economics, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA

This position is fully paid and visa may be arranged
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related fields
Strong quantitative and programming skills (Stata, R, Python; MATLAB)
Knowledge of econometrics and macroeconomic theory
Plus if also skilled in blockchain analysis but not necessary
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Hard working, committed, able to work independently and collaboratively
Fellow is expected to work on campus and not remotely
Prior research experience in economics or finance is preferred
Interest in pursuing a Ph.D. in economics
