Position description

The Condensed Matter Theory (CMT) Physics group at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar research position. The primary worksite for this position is the UC Davis Physics and Astronomy Department in Davis, CA. The responsibilities of this position include elements of both particle physics and accelerator physics, and the successful candidate must have an interest in both. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Theory Physics or related area(s) prior to beginning employment.

Professor Alex Thomson invites applicants for a postdoctoral research position in Condensed Matter Theory. Research will focus on various aspects of moiré heterostructures, topological materials, unconventional superconductivity, and other strongly correlated phases of matter.

This is a full-time, 2-year postdoctoral scholar appointment with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funding and ongoing operational needs. Candidates must have less than 3 years of paid postdoctoral experience. Salary for this position depends on experience level. This position is represented by a union for collective bargaining purposes and may be subject to a background check.
