Applications are sought for a talented and highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the translational lymphoma laboratory of Dr Jessica Okosun. Work in our group focusses on B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. Our main interests are in: (i) deciphering the molecular events that govern tumour initiation and progression; (ii) understanding the impact of intra-tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution and ultimately (iii) identifying and developing predictive and prognostic biomarker tools. We utilise primary lymphoma samples from our long-standing tissue bank and national clinical trials, high-resolution omic technologies and molecular biology techniques in our studies.

The successful applicant will lead a project using single-cell methodologies (scRNA-seq/scDNA-seq/scATAC-seq) to interrogate tumoral and immune microenvironment heterogeneity and clonal evolution in follicular lymphoma as it transforms to a more aggressive lymphoma, whilst contributing to a number of key projects within our areas of interest. As a translational research laboratory, we have established close multidisciplinary collaborations with bioinformaticians, clinicians, haemato-pathologists and the wider UK Lymphoma Clinical Trials network.

The research will be based in the Centre for Haemato-Oncology, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.

Essential requirements for this post include a PhD in a cancer biology, genetics, immunology or related area together with strong technical expertise in genomics, molecular or cellular biology. Experience with multi-colour flow cytometry, single-cell approaches and computational biology/bioinformatics would be advantageous. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.

The post is full time and funded for 2 years in the first instance (with the possibility of an extension), starting from January 2021 or earlier if available. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and in the range Research Grade 4, in the range of £34,220 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
