A research team lead by Professor Setoguchi at the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS)/IFH facilitates and performs innovative, multidisciplinary science related to the use and outcomes of therapeutics and diagnostics in large populations. PETS/IFH is a part of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Science (RBHS). RBHS was created during the 2013 integration of the health professional schools from Rutgers University and the former University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. The eight schools, six centers and institutes and a behavioral health care network of RBHS collectively comprise one of America’s largest, most comprehensive university-based centers for studying and improving human health and health care.

The Institute for Health, RBHS, and the substantial resources of Rutgers University offer a rich collaborative environment for conducting pharmacoepidemiology and health services research. RBHS is home to Rutgers Health Group, New Jersey’s largest multi-specialty medical group that includes the state’s only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, a large behavioral health delivery system, and Robert Wood Johnson Partners, a commercial and Medicare ACO. RBHS partners with RWJBarnabas Health, the state’s largest healthcare delivery system. Research among these units expands considerably the opportunities for researchers. The Institute for Health has faculty and other researchers with expertise in pharmacoepidemiology the social and clinical sciences, health research and policy, public health, and related fields.
